Jakarta, 2 December 2025 — PT Digital Mediatama Maxima Tbk (DMMX), through its subsidiary PT Bumilangit Entertainment Corpora, has officially announced the development of the upcoming feature film Si Buta dari Gua Hantu: Mata Malaikat (The Blind Warrior from the Phantom Cave: Angel Eyes). The announcement was made during the 20th Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival, marking a major step in advancing Indonesia’s character-based intellectual property ecosystem.
According to DMMX Group, this initiative strengthens the company’s presence in the broader creative industry while supporting the growth of iconic Indonesian IPs. A Legendary Indonesian Icon Returns to the Big Screen
Si Buta dari Gua Hantu is one of Indonesia’s most iconic martial arts comic characters, with a legacy spanning nine feature films and an 86-episode television series. For this new adaptation, Bumilangit has appointed Charles Gozali as Director, with MAGMA Entertainment—renowned for its action-horror titles Qodrat (2022) and Qodrat 2 (2025)—serving as the production company.
Film production is scheduled to begin in 2026, with theatrical release targeted for 2027.
Created in 1967 by legendary comic artist Ganes TH, the character remains one of Indonesia’s most recognized IPs, spanning more than 180 comic volumes and amassing over 20 million readers. The story follows a blind martial arts warrior from 1870s Banten who journeys across the archipelago fighting crime and oppression.
The upcoming adaptation will focus on one of the character’s most celebrated arcs: his confrontation with Mata Malaikat, a ruthless blind crime lord, set against the backdrop of Dutch colonial rule.
